The Anice Joy Memorial Yoga Teacher Training Scholarship: 2024

Mission:

To share the joy, groundedness, flexibility and strength that comes from intensive Yoga practice, and to support local youth in ways similar to the scholarship namesake, Anice Joy, sole proprietor of Hot Yoga Taos who passed tragically of complications after a stroke in August 2020. Arroyo Seco Live saw Anice’s practice grow and thrive here in Seco, saw her love of Yoga and sharing her practice with others, especially youth, to see them thrive and become more attuned to their own potential, gain confidence, strength and energy, improve mental health and overall quality of life. Because of her passion, Arroyo Seco Live strives to help others reach their goals of living as Yogis and sharing their practice with this community with a special focus on youth. Arroyo Seco Live recognizes the healing arts as an important creative action in building community and scholarships like this allow community to bloom.

To provide financial assistance to local Yoga students wishing to become active in the local Yoga teaching community and to live and give to the community in ways which would strengthen it, as Anice did.
